Breakfast of Scholars returns on June 22nd, 2017
The Breakfast of Scholars, our organization’s annual fundraising event, will be June 22nd at Temple Emanuel — and it’s not too early to reserve your seat.
The theme for this year’s event is The Magic of Learning. “Our theme for 2017 ties in to the book selected for this year’s Youth One Book, One Denver reading campaign, Upside Down Magic,” said Kathleen King, president of Scholars Unlimited. “But the theme also reflects the ability of our programs to transform the lives of the children we serve.”
As always, the Breakfast will be a free event — but guests will be invited to invest in the important work of Scholars Unlimited. They’ll also be treated to a musical performance by our summer scholars from Whittier K-8 school, under the guidance of Colorado Children’s Chorale.
A number of Breakfast sponsors are returning this year, including First Bank of Colorado, Campaign Products of the Rockies, Holland and Hart, Forest City Stapleton, and … Kathleen King. “Our sponsors provide generous contributions that help underwrite direct expenses for the event, which ensure that virtually all of the contributions made by guests at the Breakfast can go directly to helping the kids we serve.”
Last year’s Breakfast was highlighted by the launch of the Brighter Futures Circle, a giving society for those who make five-year pledges of $1,000 a year or more. Sixteen individuals were founding members in 2016, and we hope to add 25 more people to the Circle this year.
