Think back to the summer of 1993….
You might remember seeing Sleepless in Seattle or Jurassic Park at your local cinema. Or visiting a casual new burrito restaurant on Evans Avenue called Chipotle. You probably remember cheering every homer… every strike-out… and every victory of the Colorado Rockies’ very first season.
We remember 1993 for something else. Because that was the year that Cyndi Kahn and Paul Hamilton, the principal at Hallett Elementary, put together a summer reading program for 20 young students at Hallett.
The success of that program spurred the creation of Summer Scholars — and that means we’re celebrating our 25th Anniversary!
So we did things a bit differently in 2018. We thought a 25th Anniversary deserves something big. So we had a celebration on September 27th, 2018 at History Colorado to commemorate our first 25 years — and to launch the next 25.
A big thank you to all of our attendees and exceptionally generous sponsors — the celebration would not have been the success that it was without you!
