Our Mission.

Dynamic programs that inspire young learners.

Scholars Unlimited’s mission is to support low-income, academically struggling young learners by providing rigorous literacy instruction and enrichment programs to help students achieve measurable success — and to inspire life-long learning.

Scholars Unlimited’s programs combine tutoring and other academic supports, enrichment programming, and recreation – all provided by highly qualified staff and community partners. The result? Summer and after school learning programs that are educational, engaging, and effective.

Our primary academic focus is literacy, because literacy is the foundation for academic success. But instruction extends beyond reading and writing to include math and science at many of our partner schools.

Who we serve:

  • Denver, Aurora and Westminster students in grades K thru 5. Most live in under-served communities.
  • Nearly all of our scholars qualify for free/reduced price school lunches – a key indicator of poverty.
  • About half of our students are Hispanic/Latino. More than one-third are African-American. Remaining students are Anglo, or from other or mixed ethnicities.
  • Fifteen percent of our students live in kinship or foster care.
  • Four out of 10 students speak English as a second language.

In collaboration with our partners, we provide a broad array of enrichment opportunities that enable our scholars to practically apply academic skills, experience active, hands-on learning, gain a broader view of the world around them, and to discover new interests and passions.

At Scholars Unlimited, it’s about more than learning. It’s about empowering kids to develop a belief in their own unlimited potentials.
