More than 100 people — including 22 award winners — attended Scholars Unlimited’s annual celebration of outstanding scholars on September 29th at Denver School of the Arts. Scroll down to see fun photos from the event!

Nine students were recipients of the Cynthia Kahn Award. One student was chosen from each of the nine school sites that hosted our 2015 summer learning program. The winners were selected because they consistently demonstrated positive attitudes, an eagerness to learn, and a willingness to help others. They also consistently put forth strong efforts to become better readers.

In addition, 13 students were recipients of the Jessica Pearson Award, which is presented to the student at each school site who made the greatest gains in reading the 2014-15 Scholars After School program.

The awards are named after the co-founders of Scholars Unlimited (formerly Summer Scholars).

Each award winner received a framed certificate, books, and a $50 stipend. In addition to dinner and awards, the evening featured piano performances by five students currently attending the Denver School of the Arts.
