Scholars Unlimited’s mission is to support low-income, academically struggling young learners by providing rigorous literacy instruction and enrichment programs to help students achieve measurable success — and to inspire life-long learning. We provide comprehensive after school and summer learning programs to underserved elementary-school students. Our programs consistently help students increase their academic achievement.  And our commitment to positive youth development helps children build behaviors and pro-social skills that are critical for ongoing success — in school and in life.

Who: 12 – 20 person group of service-minded individuals.

What: A one-time, hands-on volunteer event themed around a book.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to man an activity/station with 1-2 other volunteers and engage directly with the Scholars Unlimited students.

Where: At one of Scholars Unlimited’s 12 designated school sites (location is flexible depending on the needs of the volunteer group).

When: On a designated morning (only during summer months) or afternoon for approximately 2.5 hours.

Why: Scholars Unlimited’s group volunteer events are a fantastic way for corporate, friend or other service-minded groups to come together for a fun and quick opportunity to make a difference in scholars in their community’s lives. It also gives our scholars a chance to meet new people and know that the broader community cares about their success.

Preparation/what to expect: Scholars Unlimited provides everything necessary for the volunteer event’s activities. Please come prepared to interact directly with kids and dress in casual attire that you are comfortable sitting on a floor in or being mildly physically active in.
